Community Engagement — Chicago
Alex has been a part of numerous successful campaigns and brings expertise in government, grassroots organizing, and philanthropy.
She headed Barack Obama’s 2012 re-election effort for the St. Louis region and later continued as a State Coordinator with Organizing for Action (OFA) in Chicago. She founded and served as Executive Director of the Chicago-based Every Vote Counts and spearheaded the registration of more than 120,000 voters in four months - the largest voter registration campaign in the country that year. She also served as Campaign Manager for Kurt Summers 2014 race for Chicago City Treasurer. Upon his election, Alex was named Senior Advisor for the Treasurer’s Office, leading the widely lauded initiative “Chicago’s 77” – visiting 77 neighborhoods in 77 days.
She recently established APS and Associates, serving clients in governmental affairs, grassroots organizing, nonprofit and political strategizing. Partners include The Obama Foundation, JB Pritzker, Kurt Summers, Kim Foxx, Chicago Aldermanic Black Caucus, Bill Lowry, Warren for President and AARP.
Outside of work
Alex serves as a Senior Advisor to Ichor with a particular focus on community engagement.
